The Music Makes It is a podcast exploring the world of sync licensing, sampling and human-created music sourced from the prolific APM Music catalog.

Synchronized and sampled in everything from your favourite indie flicks and albums, to Oscar-winning films, Emmy-winning TV, Grammy-winning songs, and some of the most memorable moments in sports, APM’s catalog has been the world’s leading production music library since 1983.

Host David Hollander has spent the last 30 years immersed in the vast world of vintage and archival library music. He taps into his experience as a filmmaker, writer, archivist and collector to interview key players from APM Music, including President, Adam Taylor, VP of Film & TV, Adam Weitz, VP of Sports Entertainment, Matthew Gutknecht, and VP of Music, Edwina Travis-Chin.

As a music lover and radio industry alum, I was more than stoked to lead the planning, development, showrunning and writing for this single episode podcast (solocast) for Everything Podcasts. I learned so many music nerd gems. Did you know APM owns the iconic theme to People’s Court? Its catalog runs even deeper to include music featured in Quentin Tarantino films, The White Lotus Netflix series, on beloved cartoon Spongebob Squarepants, and it’s even sampled on Kendrick Lamar’s album, GNX.
